As Americans we love to spend money. However, when asked to donate money to various non-profit organizations, some may shy away. These organizations had to think of ways to get donations from our consumer driven country. YouthAIDS was one of the first organizations to come up with a method to partner up with different brands and stores to sell products for the proceeds to benefit their organization, said Carmel Pryor, Communications/Marketing Coordinator for YouthAIDS. There are about ten different items designed for YouthAIDS to receive 100% of the proceeds. YouthAIDS has been so successful in their mission to get consumers involved with their fight against AIDS, that other non-profit organizations has began to use the same exact tactic. "Shopping with a Cause" is a great way for both ends to get what they want. The organizations receive funds to continue their awareness, while consumers still get to do what they love, shop! So, the next time you are spending money, make sure you shop with a cause.
